My work explores the essence of motion, atmosphere, and emotion—whether through the raw power of horses or the shifting landscapes that emerge through layers of molten beeswax and pigment. I am drawn to simplicity in form and the unpredictability of encaustic painting, where fire and wax interact to create organic textures, depth, and movement.
The encaustic process allows me to work intuitively, revealing abstract yet evocative imagery that invites the viewer to engage with the piece on a sensory level. Layers of beeswax, shellac, and pigment build into rich, tactile surfaces—echoing the feeling of wind over open plains, mist rising over mountains, or the silent presence of a horse in motion.
Through my art, I aim to capture not just what is seen, but what is felt—leaving space for the viewer’s own experience to complete the story.
