I’m so honored to share that my work is featured in the

September/October issue of Elite Equestrian Magazine

A two-page spread on my encaustic process, “Working in Encaustic: A Process in Surrender.”

Encaustic isn’t a medium you control, it controls you. Beeswax and damar resin, melted and infused with pigment, built up in ten to fifteen layers, fused with a torch, scraped back, and built again. The moment flame meets shellac, the painting responds with a life of its own. That surrender is where the magic lives.

What draws me to the horse as subject is that same tension between power and softness, intention and instinct. I want to capture not just the form, but the feeling of being in the presence of a horse: the power, the softness, the awareness.

Grateful to Elite Equestrian Magazine and editor Noelle Vander Brink for this feature. 🐴🔥
